NHRDs-Delhi/NCR chapter Special Event

Delhi & NCR Chapter of National HRD Network (NHRDN) organized its December 2013 Special Event titled "Building & Leveraging Performance Management System" at EMPI B School. The program was attended by people from HR Faternity and students from EMPI. Speakers for the program were Mr. Rajan Kalia, Co-Founder, Salto Dee Fe Consulting and Mr. Prasad Kurian, AVP-OD & HRBP-Coca-Cola & Alternative Beverages, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages.

The program highlights were:

1. The Performance Management Cycle – Phases, objectives and conceptual framework
2. What role does HR play in PMS? What role should it play?
3. What Science Tells Us – How can we eliminate complexity & add value to the PMS process
   • Keep Goals SIMple (Specific, important & measurable), Not SMART
   • Key Considerations for Evaluating behaviors as part of Performance Management
   • Scientific evidences on choice of rating scales
   • Feedback and coaching principles
   • Building Accountability & Transparency in PMS Process
   • Reward Principles and Philosophy
4. Forced Distribution – Arguments For and Against – What works and what doesn’t? Alternatives to Forced Ranking?
5. Leveraging PMS as a tool for building a high-performance culture 

It was a very interactive session where new methods to performance appraisal and the challenges to it were discussed and debated.
