Diwali Celebration

Diwali Celebration
Diwali is the celebration of light that illuminates every dark corner spreading happiness, joy and bliss to our soul. The illumination of homes with earthen lamps and the skies with firecrackers are an expression to the heaven for the attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace and prosperity. Even though primarily it is a Hindu festival, it has come to be celebrated by all and at EMPI we ritualistically celebrate Diwali every year.

As dusk approached, students gathered in the Amphitheater to set up the place for the puja. The place was decorated with Garland of flowers and had a special look as beautiful Rangoli with colourful pattern was spread on the floor. And when diyas were lit the whole place had a dazzling look. After some time the pandit arrived for Diwali puja. Meanwhile, students and faculty members started gathering in traditional attires to be a part of this celebration of light. The initial garlanding of the idols of Ganeshji and Laxmiji and the Arati was done by the President Mr. Gurnam Saran and the Dean & Mentor of the College Col. Arun Dhongde. Prasad was distributed to everyone, when the puja ended. Then came the moment the students were eagerly waiting for i.e. the time for firecrackers. Once firecrackers were burst everyone was jumping with laughter and happiness.

The day finally ended with delicious food, a lot of happiness and hope for a prosperous year to fight evil with the light of goodness that resides in all of us.
