Vision Building Trip

Vision Building Trip
‘The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.’

Since their arrival at EMPI, the first year batch(2013-15) of this institute has not been able to know much of the place around. So on 11th November’13 the mentors planned a small trip for them. It started with a lot more hustle-bustle than the usual. After breakfast at the mess, students moved out in two huge groups. The bus ride seemed brief with the usual songs, jokes and laughter.

The bus halted for the first stoppage, at the Hauz Khas village. The place was unique and full of colors. A lane led to the Hauz Khas Fort. A lake in the front adorned the Fort, which dates back to the Khilji rule in India. The lofty, bricky structures, the greenery, the flocks of birds made the morning beautiful.

Next was the ISKCON Temple, Rohini. The serenity of the place was heart touching. The temple established back in 1998 has a small museum of paintings depicting the stories of Lord Krishna and Radharani.

The Humayun’s tomb was the third place that the students visited. The tomb is an excellent example of Central Asian and Persian styles of Islamic architecture. The structure reminds one of the Great Taj Mahal of Agra. The place was declared as a World Heritage site in 1993.

The trip ended with a visit to the famous Delhi Haat. The place was busy and full of shops but was a perfect blend of different cultures of India. The place was themed to the upcoming winter months. There, the students enjoyed the evening snacks and boarded the bus back to hostel.

The trip thus ended but the memories will remain; ‘nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it’.
