National HRD Network Felicitates Dr. Udai Pareek, Founder Chairman, EMPI’s Udai Pareek HR-LABS at its Silver Jubilee Conference
National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN) celebrated the completion of its 25 glorious years and held its Silver Jubilee Conference on the theme 'Building India Inc. - the People Agenda' on the 25th and 26th of May, 2012 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. On this occasion, Late Dr. Udai Pareek, Founder-Chairman, EMPI’s Udai Pareek HR-LABS, was felicitated for his prominent contributions to the HR profession and NHRDN. At the beginning of conference, a film on Dr. Udai Pareek was screened for the delegates.
Prof. Sushama Khanna, Dean & Director (Outreach), EMPI’s Udai Pareek HR-LABS, was invited to receive the award conferred to Dr. Pareek. The Felicitation Ceremony was conducted in the evening on 25th May and it was an overwhelming experience, when Dr. Udai Pareek received a Standing Ovation from everyone present in the auditorium. It was an indication of not just his valuable contributions, but also how he had touched everyone’s heart, guiding and mentoring all HR Professionals at the personal level. Sri Partha Chatterjee, Minister for Industries and Commerce was also present at the closing ceremony.
When Prof. Khanna shared with the audience that EMPI has created a Centre of Excellence in HR named Udai Pareek Human Resource Laboratory for Applied Behavioural Sciences (UPHR-LABS) based on the philosophies of Dr. Udai Pareek in the year 2005 and planned to develop an Institute of International repute to take forward Dr. Pareek’s legacy, the applause was thunderous. Prof. Khanna further said that Mr. Gurnam Saran, President, EMPI and Mr. Pankaj, Vice President EMPI were highly committed to the cause and that EMPI B School looked forward for the support of all HR Professionals, in making this dream come true. The response from about 600 delegates present, comprising of young and senior managers/ professionals, CEOs and HR/ Strategic Business Heads from public and private sectors and Academicians, was indeed heartening.
