PGDM 3rd Semester Students attended SDG Workshop organised by Climate Change Research Institute


The Climate Change Research Institute organized a workshop on “Advancing Sustainable Development Goals: Role of STI” on July 27-28, 2017 at India International Centre, New Delhi. EMPIans got an opportunity to interact with eminent personalities like Mr. D.P Agrawal, Former Chairman, NTPC, Mr. S.N Pradhan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Dr. Akhilesh Gupta from Department of science and technology, Mr. Kamal Singh, Executive Director, UN Global compact network India and Dr. Malti Goel, CEO, Climate Change Research Institute.

The workshop covered important issues like how we can achieve goals through people and organizations; they encouraged the young generation to open start-ups; make them realize, how innovation and technology are driving the world. An emphasis was given on need of educating the people. It was brought out that with the introduction of artificial intelligence, blue collar jobs are being replaced by robots. 

The workshop made the students aware of the expertise in India on various sectors like grid management, the importance of CSR for business as well country and government planning on electricity and solar power production. At the end of the session; students were awarded participation certificates.
